Florida Dance Workshop Spring Dance News 2019!!

Hi everyone!  Wow this year is flying by!  Showtime ‘19 is just around the corner!  Attendance is so important now as well as at home practice for your Showtime routines and variations! Most of the Showtime costumes have been given out, please be sure to store in a safe place, and check that you have all accessories.  We need your help for Showtime 2019! We still need volunteers to help with props, front of house & the Kinderdance room, click the link above for more information.  We couldn’t put on a show of our caliber without the help of our wonderful committee.  Thank you!

It’s that time of year! We are ready to do group photos of each class this year for the Showtime program! Individual pictures should also be taken in your class timeslot as the photographer will not be at the dress rehearsal as in previous years. Please be sure that you have all of your shoes & tights in the correct colors. Pictures will be taken at Nickolsons Portrait Studio at 983 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL 33953.  Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your time slot “ready to go.” Pictures will be taken in showtime costumes with full stage makeup and hair! We would like to remind everyone to please do your part in keeping the studio neat & clean.  Dispose of garbage, papers & food.  Be sure to wear cover ups going to & from the building, please respect the studio dress code!  Thank you!    Check the website and or check with teachers to be sure you have the right color shoes & tights for Showtime.  We will begin taking pictures for our program booklet, so please be sure to dress appropriately for all classes!

Huge Congratulations to our Ovations Competition Team for a great start to competition season at Dance Master’s of Florida & Headliners National Dance Competition.  We had a very special moment at DMF when our former “Miss Teen Dance of Florida”, Brianna Donaldson, crowned our reigning “Miss Teen Dance of Florida”, Rylee Rebol!   Congratulations!  The team was awarded everything from the Highest Platinum’s, to Overall high score and judges awards! Looking forward to our last completion: Platinum at the Riverview Performing Arts Center in Sarasota April 28th!  Way to go Margeaux Valle on winning 1^st place and Holly Legare for taking 2^nd in the Charlotte County’s “Dancing with the Stars” This is always a memorable, fundraiser for the Arts & Humanities Council.  An extra Congratulations is in order to Margeaux on your engagement!  We are so happy for you and Hunter!

Just a reminder, Showtime is again held at The Center for Performing Arts in Punta Gorda,  Performances June 8 at 2:00 and 7:00 pm.  Dress Rehearsal June 7 at 5PM and is mandatory for all!   Tickets are going on sale soon and are again $15.00 Presale online ($18 at the door) and can be purchased through our website, www.floridadanceworkshop.com (Direct link: https://dancestudio-pro.com/tickets/floridadanceworkshop) 

Program ads are on sale now!!!  Remember we will again be awarding our “School Spirit” scholarship and trophy on stage at Showtime to whoever brings in the most tickets and ad sales.  This is in addition to our many scholarships based on merit and achievement.  We are proud to have awarded over $100,000 in scholarships over the last 28 years based on merit and financial aid!  This is with the help of the advertisers in our Showtime Program.  The more ads sold to business, parents, families and friends, the more $$$ we can give away!  Thanks for your support!
