ITS FINALLY HERE! THE MOMENT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR! OUR NEW DANCE HOME WILL OFFICIALLY HOLD IT’S GRAND OPENING SEPTEMBER 30 at 24901 Sandhill Blvd Units 1,2,3 Punta Gorda, Florida 33983!!!! You are all invited to our open house, Sunday September 30th 12-2pm! We will have games, door prizes, and fun FREE 20 minute mini classes with our NEW adult teachers! We are so excited to now include 11 new BALLROOM and FITNESS classes for ADULTS on our schedule. Please help us spread the word & invite everyone you know to the open house!
Our Full 3 room Class Schedule will start Oct 1st & on October 11th the Chamber of Commerce will be honoring FDW with an official Ribbon Cutting! Please check out our updated schedule for the many NEWLY added classes, including, ballroom, cheer, Adult fitness and more! We have so many amazing memories over the past 28 years here in Charlotte County, complete with 4 different locations, thousands of dancers coming through our doors, so many who have moved on to professional dance careers, hundreds of charity performances, parties and competitions! We look forward to THOUSANDS MORE in our new home!!!

We hope you’re getting ready for a great Holiday Season. We know this time can be busy for most families and the studio is no exception! We have some exciting events coming up as usual! Be sure to find time to practice at home, we will be starting some of the routines of the combo classes for Showtime 2019, June 7 & 8, (Friday and Saturday) soon!

Oct is almost here, which means it’s time to honor the dress code (dress code does not apply to Adult classes). No pants, shirts, shorts, bare midriff permitted for ballet. Cami tops, sports tops, plain t’s (Black, Red, White recommended) are allowed for other classes as well as dance pants, capris or shorts. We take the dress code into consideration when choosing scholarship & trophy recipients at Showtime, as well as program & newspaper pictures! Be sure to see our FDW items which are permitted for all classes EXCEPT ballet. (Remember, you can order Official FDW Dancewear anytime at http://teamstore.gtmsportswear.com/ floridadanceworkshop).
Friendly reminder, Sept tuition must be paid in full. Late fees are assessed the 10th of each month. For our Youth Program: COSTUME FEES will post Oct 1st, and final payments are due Dec 15th! Your 1st costume payment per child should be paid in Oct, 2nd in Nov, 3rd and final in Dec. All costumes must be paid in full by December 15th. We will be taking your child’s measurements in a couple months. Pictures of the costumes will be displayed after ordered.
Big CONGRATULATIONS to FDW Alumna Nikki Blazekovic!!! She just auditioned and was added to the database to the world famous CIRQUE DU SOLEIL! Nikki has achieved more dance goals and dreams in the last few years then many dancers experience in a lifetime! We are so proud of her!!!
Another congratulations is in order, Andrea, Michelle and Holly have all beennamed “Best Dance Instructor” in the past… and this year is no different! Congrats Holly for 2018 and Congratulations to the STUDIO for winning “Best Dance Studio”!Thank you so much for voting!
Be sure to refer to our DATES TO REMEMBER for our many performing events as well as the school holiday schedule! Thriller at Dean’s, Veteran’s Parade, Faith Life Church, Christmas Parade, Mistletoe Ball, Dance Invitational, Ovations Dance Showcase, Dancing with the Charlotte Stars and so many more!
The CHRISTMAS PARADE IS COMING!!! The Charlotte County Christmas Parade is always a favorite event for FDW. It is scheduled for Saturday DEC 8! ALL students are welcome & encouraged to be a part of it! 3-5 year olds will ride on our decorated float & students ages 6 & up will be dancing down the parade route! Each year the parade is based on a theme by the Chamber of Commerce, & we are extremely pleased to have won in the “Best Performing Unit” category 24 years! We of course do not expect to win again, but have a blast participating! Refreshments are always served at the end of the route! The parade begins at CHS & will end at the Event Center. A sign up poster will be hanging soon, more info TBA!
We would like to thank everyone for your patience with our schedule & class changes. Please trust that we have every child’s best interest at heart & know where they will retain & gain the most from their dance education. We take a lot of time & care placing every dancer. Dance does not have 12 levels like school, but each level usually has about 3 levels within it. We have a curriculum that we cover in each, & know where each child belongs. Pushing ahead to fast could hinder a young dancer’s technique & confidence as they will be skipping important material they need to advance. We are proud to hold the same policies & traditions for the past 28 years, and have turned out numerous PROFESSIONALS, who went thru our levels just like your children ☺ Suggestion, even though the studio may be open earlier then your child’s class, sometimes the 3-6 yr olds, should come just before class starts. If the little ones come too early, they sometimes don’t have energy through their whole class. (classes are approx. 40 – 45 min or 55 -1 hr.) Please remember to help keep studio neat & clean, dispose of garbage etc. Thank you! ☺ FLU season is here & strong virus’, wash hands often & use hand sanitizer! BE SURE TO CHECK LOST AND FOUND REGULARLY AND LABEL DANCE SHOES!
