About Us
The Florida Dance Workshop is celebrating its 35th season of providing a fun, nurturing environment “where the experience is positive and the quality shows.” All dancers that come through the doors of FDW are part of our family forever and we are proud to say that our studio is a home away from home for our students with many of our alumni returning with their children to continue building the LOVE of dance.
What We're Raising Money For
"Ovations" is an elite competition team from Florida Dance Workshop which consists of members of all ages who have mastered the ability to execute technically challenging steps and combinations. These dancers participate in regional and national dance competitions. We are raising money to help support the cost of our group dance entry fees.
Why You Should Give
At FDW we teach our students to come together, in cooperation, toward the task of mutual accomplishment. Participation on our Competition Team shows children how to support, assist, and encourage their fellow dancers, to improve and achieve alongside each other. We stress balance and compassion, while teaching all dancers to foster friendship and mutual success. Mastery of technique is our shared mission for the good of all, so we can rejoice in everyone’s achievements. Your advertising sponsorship/donation will help to cover the entry fees for our Ovations Competition Team group dances at regional competitions.
How We Distribute Money Raised
The average cost in entry fees that each member pays per season is $600. This cost is in addition to the cost of travel, costumes, and dance lessons. The funds raised through our Fundraising Showcase will be distributed (based on a percentage of the money each student raised) into the accounts of this year’s team of 50 dancers to help support the cost of the competitions. All profits raised from this Fundraising Showcase will help to make dance competitions more affordable for our team’s families.
