Hi everyone! Wow this year is flying by! Showtime ‘18 is just around the corner!
Attendance is so important now as well as at home practice for your Showtime routines and variations! Hope you have all checked out our costume poster! Reminder: our costumes are mail ordered and sometimes need alterations. We have wonderful seamstresses who will be happy to alter anything and are most affordable! See Holly, Michelle or Andrea to get in touch with them! The Showtime committee poster will be posted soon as well! We couldn’t put on a show of our caliber without the help of our wonderful committee. Thank you!
We would like to remind everyone to please do your part in keeping the studio neat & clean. Dispose of garbage, papers & food. Be sure to wear cover ups going to & from the building, please respect the studio dress code & be sure to check mailboxes as well as emails regularly! Thank you! Check the website and or check with teachers to be sure you have the right color shoes & tights for Showtime. We will begin taking pictures for our program booklet, so please be sure to dress appropriately for all classes!
Huge Congratulations to some of our Ovations Competition Team members who competed in the Shake the Ground Competition & Fusion Dance Competition! They were awarded everything from the Highest Platinum’s, to Overall high score and judges awards! Brianna Donaldson and Hanna Iverson even traveled to the Dance Master’s of America Convention and Competition, where they not only participated in the renowned, world wide respected competition but also a weekend of classes where they were actually judged as well as an interview process! Both girls won Platinum medals (the highest given by DMA). Brianna won the coveted title of “Teen Miss Dance of Florida” and will be defending her title and representing the state of Florida in the Miss Dance of America competition at National’s in California this summer! She also scored 1st place as the Highest scored dancer of the day and highest score in both Ballet and Jazz class and Highest Interview! Brianna is a back to back title winner, as she also was named Miss Platinum Dance Competition 2 weeks ago as well! All of our Ovations Competition Team traveled to Tampa last weekend to compete at the Platinum Dance Competition where they scored too many overall, judges, and highest medals to mention in numerous different levels! Congratulations to all!

WE are so excited to announce that a BIG MOVE is in the works! It’s time to move on from this location. We have loved it for 8 years, but look forward to a place with ample parking, nice neighbors, higher ceilings, and much more! We have agents diligently working to find us the perfect place ASAP! Thank you for your patience, we hope to be in our new location in time for Fall classes at the latest!
We are looking forward to performing at the San Pedro Spring Festival in North Port, March 3rd and in the annual event, Charlotte County’s “Dancing with the Stars”, Friday March 9th! This is always a memorable, fundraiser for the Arts & Humanities Council!
Also coming soon…. “So You Think You Can Dance?” Finalist Carlos Garland will be visiting the studio Friday, March 16th and Saturday March 17th for classes in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop & Audition prep. Just a reminder, Showtime is again held at The Center for Performing Arts in Punta Gorda, Dress Rehearsal and Performances Sat. June 2, and 3. Dress Rehearsals are mandatory for all and start at 12:00PM! Tickets are going on sale soon and are again 15$ ($18 a the door). This year we are introducing reserved seats. Remember we will again be awarding our “School Spirit” scholarship and trophy on stage at Showtime to whoever brings in the most tickets and ad sales. This is in addition to our many scholarships based on merit and achievement. We are proud to have awarded over $100,000 in scholarships over the last 25 years based on merit and financial aid! This is with the help of the advertisers in our Showtime Program. The more ads sold to business, parents, families and friends, the more $$$ we can give away! Thanks for your support!
