We hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and wonderful New Year! Big Congratulations to FDW for WINNING 1st place Charlotte County’s “Best Performing Unit” again this year. Wow, this year is already flying by! Showtime ’18’ our 27th anniversary is just around the corner! Attendance is so important now as well as at home practice for your Showtime routines and variations!
Please check with teachers to be sure you have the right color shoes and tights for Showtime! The Showtime committee poster will be posted soon as well! We couldn’t put on a show of our caliber without the help of our wonderful committee. Thank you!
Big Congratulations to our “Ovations Competition Team” for a job well done in their Preview Showcase Jan 6! We are so excited 
for the upcoming competition season! Also a huge thank you to our FDW families who came out to support the team! 100% of the profits go right back to the kids, to help defray the cost of the competition’s entry fees! We are happy to announce that each member of the competition team received an $84 credit towards their entry fees!
We would like to remind everyone to please do your part in keeping the studio neat and clean. Dispose of garbage, papers and food. Be sure to wear cover ups going to and from the building and be sure to check mailboxes AND emails regularly! All Dancenews and other important information will be posted in the parent portal (more information on the next page). We are proactive in keeping up with lines of communication and keep everyone well informed, please be sure to read all correspondence! January tuition should now be paid in full, to avoid late fees tuition must be paid by the 10th of each month…Thank you!
We are looking forward to the upcoming event “Dancing with the Charlotte Stars” to be staged at the Event Center in Punta Gorda. Some of our Ovations, will guest perform for the popular fundraising, event Break –A-Leg to the (non dance) contestants, Ashley Housman and Justin Brand who will be competing for the Arts & Humanities!!!
NEW FOR 2018 we have online stores for “Dancewear & Accessories” and “Official FDW Apparel.” You can purchase dancewear and items like the FDW jacket, pants, etc at your leisure. Contact Holly for any questions.
Also NEW for 2018 ….. We are expanding use of the DanceStudio Pro Parent Portal. Through the parent portal you can: contact FDW staff members, pay for bills, view your student’s schedule on a calendar, and register for new classes. Under “Shared Files” you can even find ALL important FDW Dancenews, class music and other critical information that you need to be prepared for classes and the June show (this is in addition to your studio mailbox). This spring we will be handling ALL registration for the summer and fall seasons via the parent portal. ****Please take a moment familiarize yourself with the portal and email Holly at FloridaDanceWorkshop@gmail.com or call 941-743-2115 if you would like some help navigating the system. We are here to help you!!!

SHOWTIME 2018 is coming….
Just a reminder, Showtime is again held at The Center for Performing Arts in Punta Gorda, Dress Rehearsal is Saturday, June 2nd at 12pm / Saturday Evening Show at 7pm / Sunday June 3rd Matinee Show, 2pm. Dress Rehearsal is mandatory for all dancers! All dancers stay back stage as they are the “stars”. Tickets go on sale soon and are $15 presale, $18 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the studio, online or at the box office the day of the event. We have completely sold out in the past, so get your tickets early! Ads for our souvenir program booklet go on sale soon as well! Remember we will again be awarding our “School Spirit” award and trophy on stage at Showtime to whoever brings in the most tickets and ad sales. This is in addition to our many awards based on merit and achievement. We are proud to have awarded over $100,000 in scholarships over the last 26 years based on merit and financial aid! This is with the help of the advertisers in our Showtime Program. The more ads sold to business, parents, families and friends, the more $$$ we can give away! Thanks for your support!
Reminder: we follow the Charlotte County School Calendar. If there is no school there is no dance. We realize there are more Mondays off of school, as we get closer to Showtime and have routines to work on, we will be scheduling class Make ups.
